Samuel Gueulette makes UTA Arad switch from La Louviere
Rwandan-Belgian midfielder Samuel Gueulette has joined Romanian club UTA Arad from La Louviere on a free transfer.
The 26-year-old central midfielder moves from Belgium’s Jupiler Pro League to Romania’s SuperLiga after spending the previous five years with La Louviere. Gueulette joined the Belgian club in July 2021 as a free agent and now begins a new chapter with UTA Arad.
Gueulette has made one appearance in the Jupiler Pro League during the 2026-27 season. He played one minute and did not score, while he had not featured in the Romanian Cup before completing his move to Arad.
Born in Kigali, Rwanda, Gueulette holds Rwandan and Belgian nationality. He stands 1.82m tall, is right-footed and operates primarily in central midfield, giving UTA Arad a player with experience of Belgian league football as they add to their squad in Romania.
Before joining La Louviere, Gueulette spent time with KSV Roeselare and AFC Tubize. He moved to Roeselare from Tubize in July 2020 on a free transfer, having previously left the KAA Gent Under-21 side for Tubize in August 2019. His move to Roeselare was followed by a period without a club before he signed for La Louviere.
The transfer represents Gueulette’s first move outside Belgium and takes him into a different domestic competition at a stage of his career when he has already played in the professional Belgian league. His market value is listed at €500,000, although no transfer fee was paid for his move to UTA Arad.
UTA Arad becomes Gueulette’s fifth senior club after KAA Gent U21, AFC Tubize, KSV Roeselare and La Louviere. The switch was completed on 2 September 2026.
