Younes Jaber el Meftahi joins FC Volendam from Sparta Rotterdam on loan
Dutch-Moroccan attacking midfielder Younes Jaber el Meftahi has joined FC Volendam from Sparta Rotterdam on a season-long loan.
The 18-year-old has moved to the Keuken Kampioen Divisie club for the 2026-27 campaign, with the loan running until 30 June 2027. He will return to Sparta Rotterdam at the end of the arrangement.
Jaber el Meftahi is a right-footed attacking midfielder and made the switch after beginning the season with Sparta’s senior side. He joined Sparta Rotterdam’s first team from Sparta Under-21s on 1 July 2026, having previously progressed through the club’s Under-18, Under-17 and youth teams.
Before moving to Volendam, he had made two appearances in the Tweede Divisie during the opening part of the campaign. He started both matches, completed 180 minutes and registered one assist. He had not featured in the Eredivisie before joining Volendam.
The move gives Jaber el Meftahi a new setting for the remainder of the season after his progression through Sparta’s youth system. His senior career began with Sparta Under-21s, following his move up from the club’s Under-18 team in July 2024.
Jaber el Meftahi was born on 11 October 2007 and holds Netherlands and Morocco nationality. He joins Volendam with the club listing him as an attacking midfielder.
Volendam’s new arrival has been registered on loan from Sparta Rotterdam, with the agreement scheduled to end on 30 June 2027.
