AC Horsens sign Ivory Coast defender Valassina Diomande from Sandvikens IF

Ivorian centre-back Valassina Diomande has joined Danish club AC Horsens from Swedish side Sandvikens IF.

The 18-year-old defender completed the move on 2 September 2026, switching from Sweden’s Superettan to Horsens’ Superliga squad. No transfer fee has been disclosed.

Diomande was born in Daloa, Cote d’Ivoire, and stands 1.83m tall. He is left-footed and plays primarily as a centre-back, adding a young defensive option to Horsens after less than a year with Sandvikens.

He moved to Sandvikens from Deportivo FA on 29 January 2026, having previously joined the latter club in September 2022. His move to Horsens is his third recorded club change.

Diomande made one competitive appearance for Sandvikens during the 2026-27 season, playing the full 90 minutes in the Svenska Cupen. He started that match and completed the game without scoring or assisting.

His arrival in Denmark follows his first senior experience in Sweden and gives him a move into the country’s top division. Horsens will be Diomande’s fourth recorded club, after Deportivo FA and Sandvikens IF in Sweden.

The defender’s arrival also marks a change of footballing environment, with Horsens competing in Denmark’s Superliga and Sandvikens having played in the Superettan. His previous experience has come primarily in Sweden since leaving Deportivo FA.

Diomande has now completed his move from Sandvikens IF to AC Horsens, where he will continue his career as an Ivorian centre-back.
