Kingstone Mutandwa: Zambia forward joins Servette from Cagliari on loan

Zambia centre-forward Kingstone Mutandwa has joined Swiss Super League club Servette FC from Serie A side Cagliari on loan, switching leagues after making one appearance for the Italian club at the start of the 2026-27 season.

The 23-year-old’s move was completed on 2 September 2026, with the loan scheduled to run until 30 June 2027. Mutandwa’s contract arrangements at Servette cover the same period, and he is due to return to Cagliari when the temporary transfer ends.

Mutandwa arrives in Switzerland after spending the previous campaign with Austrian club SV Ried on loan from Cagliari. He returned to the Italian side at the end of June before moving to Servette two months later.

His early involvement in Cagliari’s current campaign was limited to a single Serie A appearance. He was not used in the club’s Italy Cup fixture, and now moves to a Servette side competing in Switzerland’s top flight.

The centre-forward joined Cagliari from SV Ried’s temporary spell after initially making his way into European football through Atletico Lusaka. Cagliari signed him from the Zambian club in August 2023, before he moved into the Italian club’s senior set-up the following year.

Mutandwa began his career with Sunshine in Zambia and also spent time with Maccabi Petah Tikva’s under-19 side in Israel during the 2021-22 season. His move to Atletico Lusaka followed the conclusion of that loan spell.

A right-footed attacker born in Chibombo, Mutandwa remains contracted to Cagliari beyond the current season, with his deal running until 30 June 2027. He joins Servette with a recorded market value of €3.5m and will wear the number seven shirt at the Geneva-based club.

The transfer takes Mutandwa from Italy’s Serie A to the Swiss Super League, with Servette becoming the latest club in his developing senior career. He has now completed a season-long loan move from Cagliari to Servette.
