Ayoni Santos joins PSV in €5m Sparta switch

Cape Verde-Netherlands winger Ayoni Santos has joined PSV from Sparta Rotterdam for €5m, moving to the Eredivisie club at the age of 21.

Santos has signed a contract with PSV running until 30 June 2031. The left winger, who is right-footed, made three Eredivisie appearances for Sparta during the 2026-27 season before completing his move to Eindhoven.

He played 257 minutes in the Eredivisie during his senior career at Sparta, including three appearances this season. Santos did not score or register an assist in his early league outings for the Rotterdam club.

The transfer takes Santos to PSV after he spent the previous campaign with Sparta Rotterdam. He joined Sparta’s senior set-up from the club’s Under-21 side in October 2025, having progressed through Sparta’s youth structure.

Born in Rotterdam, Santos represents a footballing background connected to both the Netherlands and Cape Verde. He is listed at 1.83m and operates primarily from the left side of attack.

PSV have added Santos to their squad as he begins the next stage of his career at the reigning Eredivisie club. His move was completed on 2 September 2026, with the €5m fee making it the latest step in his progression from Sparta’s youth teams to senior football.

Santos is now a PSV player on a contract that lasts until June 2031.
