Everton linked with Joshua Zirkzee as Manchester United forward seeks regular football
Joshua Zirkzee, the Dutch-Nigerian forward at Manchester United, has been linked with a move to Premier League rivals Everton.
The 25-year-old centre-forward has yet to appear for United in the Premier League this season, having not featured in either of the club’s two possible games so far. The reported interest from Everton comes with Zirkzee’s opportunities at Old Trafford limited at the start of the 2026-27 campaign.
Zirkzee joined United from Bologna on 14 July 2024 in a deal worth €42.5m. He had spent two seasons with the Italian club after leaving Bayern Munich and was named Bologna’s best young player in 2024.
His arrival at United followed a campaign in which he established himself in Italy, but he has since remained part of a competitive forward group at the Manchester club. His current market value is listed at €20m.
Zirkzee’s proposed move would keep him in the Premier League, with Everton the club currently linked with signing him from United. No transfer fee or probability has been established for the rumoured switch.
The forward remains under contract at Manchester United until 30 June 2029, meaning any move would require an agreement between the two clubs rather than a free transfer.
