Everton re-sign Jack Grealish on loan from Manchester City

Everton have announced the return of Jack Grealish, with the England international joining the club on loan from Manchester City for a second consecutive season. The agreement will keep Grealish at Everton until the end of the 2026-27 season.

Grealish spent last season with Everton after moving to the club on a temporary basis from Manchester City. During that spell, he played 20 Premier League matches, scoring two goals and providing six assists.

His campaign was cut short in February after he suffered an injury. Despite that setback, Grealish had already made a significant impact earlier in the season by being named the Premier League’s Player of the Month for August.

Everton’s decision to bring him back means Grealish will continue his career with the club while remaining contracted to Manchester City. The new loan represents another season-long arrangement between the two clubs and gives Everton the opportunity to retain a player who contributed goals and assists during his previous spell.

The deal is Everton’s sixth signing of the summer. Grealish joins a recruitment group that includes Merlin Rohl, Hayden Hackney, Tyrique George, Christian Nørgaard and Brennan Johnson.

His return follows the departure of Senegal winger Iliman Ndiaye, who has moved from Everton to Manchester City. That transfer has opened the way for Grealish to rejoin Everton’s squad.

Grealish’s previous season at Everton included a productive opening period, highlighted by his August award in the Premier League, before his progress was interrupted by the February injury. His league record of two goals and six assists remains the key statistical summary of that spell.

Everton have now confirmed that he will have the chance to add to those figures during the 2026-27 campaign. The club’s announcement ends uncertainty over whether Grealish would remain part of their plans after his initial loan ended.

For Manchester City, the arrangement allows Grealish to continue playing for Everton, while the player returns to a side where he had already established a role last season. For Everton, it is the latest step in reshaping their squad during the summer transfer window.

The club’s six additions, including Grealish’s return, come alongside Ndiaye’s move in the opposite direction to Manchester City. The two deals have therefore linked the clubs’ transfer activity while changing the make-up of Everton’s squad ahead of the new season.
