Chelsea and Liverpool face late transfer decisions over Camara and Sarr

With the transfer window entering its final hours, clubs are working to complete deals that could reshape their squads, with several African players at the centre of intense negotiations.

Chelsea’s pursuit of Monaco midfielder Lamine Camara is among the most high-profile stories still to be resolved. The Blues have already submitted an opening bid worth 45m euros, but Monaco rejected the offer and are understood to be seeking a higher fee.

Further talks could take place before the deadline. Chelsea’s owners and sporting officials may return with an improved proposal in an attempt to complete the deal.

Camara is under contract with Monaco until 2029 and has an estimated market value of 40m euros. The Senegal international earns an annual salary of 920,000 euros, equivalent to 598,000,000 FCFA.

Liverpool are also continuing their efforts to sign Crystal Palace forward Ismaila Sarr. The Reds are reported to have made a second offer worth more than 60m euros, but that proposal is also said to have been turned down by Palace.

Sarr is determined to move to Anfield and has reportedly escalated the situation by refusing to train. The Senegal international, known as the Lion of Teranga, remains contracted to Crystal Palace until 30 June 2029.

His market value is estimated at 45m euros, while his annual salary is reported to be 4,348,684 euros, or 2,826,644,600 FCFA.

Nwaneri set for Dortmund loan

Arsenal midfielder Ethan Nwaneri is close to joining Borussia Dortmund on loan after the parties reached an agreement, according to the report.

The 19-year-old English attacking midfielder of Nigerian origin has not played for Arsenal since the start of the season. Borussia Dortmund, known as BVB, will cover his entire salary for the duration of his time in Germany.

The move would give Nwaneri the opportunity to secure regular first-team football away from Arsenal, although the report does not state whether the loan includes an option to buy.

Ounahi nears Panathinaikos return

Morocco midfielder Azzedine Ounahi is also close to returning to Panathinaikos. Exclusive information cited by Africafoot indicates that only one final step remains before he can rejoin the Greek club.

Ounahi is tied to Girona FC until 30 June 2030 and is valued at an estimated 18m euros. Panathinaikos have moved ahead of several competing clubs in the race for his signature.

Ajax Amsterdam, PSV Eindhoven and Real Betis were all reportedly interested in signing Ounahi, according to Africafoot’s exclusive sources.

Toko-Ekambi could join Marseille

Olympique de Marseille could make a late move for free agent Karl Toko-Ekambi. The Cameroon international is reported to have accepted a significant reduction in salary to join the French club.

The remaining question is whether Marseille’s decision-makers will accelerate negotiations and complete the transfer at a relatively low cost before the window closes.

Toko-Ekambi’s estimated market value is 1.2m euros. However, Africafoot’s exclusive sources say RS Berkane are also very interested in the Paris-born striker’s situation.
