Hamza Abdel Karim ‘very happy’ after making Barcelona debut

Young Egyptian striker Hamza Abdel Karim says he was delighted to make his official debut for Barcelona in their 5-2 victory over Rayo Vallecano in La Liga.

The forward came on during Barcelona’s third league match of the season, making his first competitive appearance for the Spanish champions.

Abdel Karim said he was overwhelmed by the experience of playing in front of a large crowd at the club.

“I am very happy with that participation. I was excited when I went down to the field,” he said after the match.

“There were a large number of fans. I had a very wonderful feeling, and I want to live this feeling continuously.”

Barcelona’s emphatic win over Rayo Vallecano strengthened their position at the top of La Liga, something Abdel Karim believes is where the club belongs.

“Leading La Liga? It’s great for us. This is where we should be, and we should continue to be at the top like this,” he added.

The Egyptian also praised two of Barcelona’s leading attacking players, Raphinha and Lamine Yamal.

He described Brazil international Raphinha as an exceptional player and person, while highlighting his commitment on the pitch.

“Raphinha is amazing and a very great person. He has the talent, and we know that he gives 100% anywhere on the field,” Abdel Karim said.

On teenage sensation Yamal, the striker added: “Lamine Yamal is a magical player. He has amazing feet, and we all enjoy watching him. He always plays for the team.”

Abdel Karim has already set his sights on making a meaningful contribution to Barcelona as the season progresses.

“I hope to help the team as much as possible and win everything this season,” he said.

The young striker will now look to build on his debut as Barcelona continue their campaign across domestic and European competitions.
