Yannis Lagha: Algerian-French striker makes JS Kabylie switch from Lyon B
Algerian-French centre-forward Yannis Lagha has joined JS Kabylie from Lyon B, completing a move that takes the 22-year-old from France’s fourth tier to Algeria’s Ligue 1.
Lagha’s transfer was finalised on 31 August 2026, with the striker becoming a JS Kabylie player ahead of the new campaign. The move marks his first change of senior club since leaving Lyon’s youth system and gives him a new setting in which to continue his career.
Born in Lyon on 21 June 2004, Lagha stands 1.85m tall and is right-footed. He operates primarily as a centre-forward, offering JS Kabylie a recognised attacking option as the club competes in Algeria’s top flight.
The striker had been with Lyon B since July 2022, having previously progressed through Olympique Lyonnais’ under-19 side and youth ranks. His time with the club’s academy included a French Youth Cup triumph with Lyon Under-19 during the 2021-22 season.
Lagha’s final season in the Lyon system came with the reserve side in National 2, where he was registered in Group F. He had not made an appearance or recorded a goal or assist in the 2026-27 campaign before switching clubs.
The move also represents a return to the country connected with one of Lagha’s nationalities, after his development in France and several years within the Lyon setup. JS Kabylie, competing in Ligue 1, will now be his first club outside the Lyon organisation.
Lagha joined Lyon’s Under-19 team in July 2021 before moving into the club’s B team a year later. His progression through those sides preceded the completed transfer to JS Kabylie, which was recorded on the final day of August.
The forward’s arrival comes without a disclosed contract length or transfer fee, and no terms beyond the completed change of club have been announced. His immediate senior record at Lyon B was limited, while his academy career included the cup success with the Under-19 team.
At JS Kabylie, Lagha will continue as a centre-forward after making the switch from Lyon B to the Algerian Ligue 1 club on 31 August 2026.
