Aaron Bibout transfer: Rennes linked with Genk striker after strong start

Cameroon forward Aaron Bibout is being linked with a move from Genk to Stade Rennais, with the French Ligue 1 club named as a potential destination for the 21-year-old centre-forward.

Bibout has made four appearances in the Jupiler Pro League this season, scoring twice in 89 minutes. He has not started a league match, but his goals have accounted for 17% of Genk’s league goal participation so far.

The striker joined Genk from Swedish club Vasteras SK on 24 July 2025 in a deal worth €2.2m. His contract with the Belgian club runs until 30 June 2029, meaning any move to Rennes would involve a transfer rather than a free transfer.

Bibout’s current market value is listed at €3.5m, above the fee Genk paid for him last year. He previously spent time in the United States with LA Galaxy, Tulsa and Ventura County before moving to Europe.

The reported interest comes as Bibout begins his second season with Genk and earns an increased role in the Belgian side’s attack. No transfer agreement has been confirmed, and the rumour does not include a proposed fee or probability of completion.
