Ibrahim Sulemana emerges as Sassuolo option in proposed Atalanta switch
Ghana midfielder Ibrahim Sulemana, currently with Atalanta, has been linked with a move to Serie A rivals Sassuolo.
The 23-year-old defensive midfielder is under contract with Atalanta until 30 June 2028, with his current market value listed at €6m. No transfer fee or probability has been established for the proposed move.
Sulemana has not featured for Atalanta in Serie A or Conference League qualifying this season, having returned to the club after spending the second half of the 2025-26 campaign on loan at Cagliari. His latest appearance figures show no competitive outings so far this term.
Atalanta signed Sulemana from Cagliari in July 2024 for €7.4m. He subsequently spent the opening part of last season on loan at Bologna before moving to Cagliari in January, where he completed the campaign before returning to Bergamo.
Sassuolo and Atalanta are both in Serie A, and any move would keep Sulemana in Italy’s top flight. The rumour was recorded on 31 August, with the midfielder’s position and contractual status making him an established Atalanta player rather than a free agent.
Sulemana remains contracted to Atalanta through June 2028 while interest from Sassuolo is being reported.
