Lille linked with Genk forward Aaron Bibout after fast start to season

Cameroonian forward Aaron Bibout is the subject of a transfer link between his current club Genk and French side Lille, with the Ligue 1 club reportedly monitoring the 21-year-old.

Bibout has made four appearances for Genk in the Jupiler Pro League this season and has scored twice, with both goals coming in 89 minutes of action. He has not started a league match, but his early return has coincided with Lille being linked with a move for the centre-forward.

The 1.93m striker joined Genk from Swedish club Vasteras SK on 24 July 2025 in a deal worth €2.2m. His market value is currently listed at €3.5m, putting him among the Belgian club’s younger attacking assets.

Bibout’s career also includes spells with LA Galaxy and Tulsa in the United States before his move to Europe. He began his senior career with Ventura County and Detroit City before leaving North America for Vasteras.

Any move to Lille would take Bibout from Belgium’s top flight to Ligue 1, but there is no indication that an agreement has been reached. He remains under contract with Genk until 30 June 2029.
