Bologna eye Werder Bremen winger Samuel Mbangula in Serie A move

Belgian winger Samuel Mbangula is the subject of a reported move from Werder Bremen to Bologna, with the Italian club linked with a deal for the 22-year-old before the transfer window closes.

Mbangula joined Werder from Juventus on 23 July 2025 in a €10m transfer and remains under contract with the Bundesliga club until June 2030. His current market value is listed at €8m.

The left winger has made one appearance for Werder this season, starting in the DFB-Pokal and playing 45 minutes without scoring. He has not featured in the Bundesliga so far, with the club’s league campaign having included one match.

A move to Bologna would take Mbangula from the Bundesliga to Serie A, although the likelihood of the transfer is currently assessed at 37%. No agreement has been confirmed between the clubs.

Mbangula began his senior career with Juventus Next Gen after developing in the Italian club’s youth system. He previously came through the academies at Anderlecht and Club Brugge before moving to Juventus as a teenager.

Werder signed him after his single season with Juventus’ senior side, during which he progressed from the club’s youth structure to the first team. He is currently registered as a Werder Bremen player, with four years remaining on his contract.
