Ballon d’Or holder Ousmane Dembélé agrees to extend PSG contract until 2030

Ballon d’Or winner Ousmane Dembélé has reportedly reached an agreement with Paris Saint-Germain to extend his contract with the French champions until 2030.

The 28-year-old France international, who has both Mali and Senegal roots has agreed to a two-year contract extension, keeping him at the Parc des Princes for the next four seasons.

The development is reportedly in line with Dembélé’s long-term plans. The French forward had already informed PSG that he wanted to remain in the French capital, at least for the foreseeable future, before eventually considering a move outside Europe later in his career.

Dembélé has already attracted interest from clubs in the Saudi Pro League, but those approaches have not changed his desire to continue with PSG.

The former Barcelona attacker joined PSG in 2023 after the French club activated his release clause to bring him back to his home country. Having initially arrived as a winger, Dembélé took his game to another level during his second season in Paris.

The Rennes academy graduate unexpectedly developed into a prolific centre-forward, becoming one of the most decisive players in Luis Enrique’s side.

His transformation proved particularly important during PSG’s historic run to their first UEFA Champions League title last season. Dembélé was one of the driving forces behind the club’s European success, consistently producing goals and assists at crucial moments.

His performances ultimately earned him the prestigious Ballon d’Or, confirming his status as the best individual player in world football.

Dembélé also played an important role as PSG successfully defended their Champions League crown. In the final against Arsenal, the France international showed his composure by converting a penalty as the Parisian giants secured back-to-back European titles.

Since joining PSG, Dembélé has established himself as one of the club’s most productive attacking players. He has registered 61 goals and 43 assists in 138 appearances across competitions for the French champions.

The new contract would represent a major commitment from PSG to a player who has become central to their sporting project.

For Dembélé, the agreement also provides stability at a club where he has finally fulfilled much of the enormous potential he showed during his early career at Rennes and Barcelona.

Although the player has been linked with a future move to the Saudi Pro League, his decision to extend his stay means he will continue leading PSG’s attack for the coming years.

The contract extension is expected to be officially announced in the coming weeks, subject to the completion of the formalities.
