Hajduk Split emerge as possible destination for Montpellier midfielder Fayad
Moroccan and French midfielder Khalil Fayad is being linked with a move from Montpellier to Hajduk Split, with the Croatian club reportedly interested in the 22-year-old central midfielder.
Fayad is a product of Montpellier’s academy and joined the club’s senior squad from Montpellier B in July 2022. He has remained contracted to the Ligue 2 side, where his current deal is due to expire on 30 June 2027.
The midfielder has not made an appearance for Montpellier in Ligue 2 this season, despite the club having played four possible games. He has also not registered a goal or assist in the campaign.
A move to Hajduk would take Fayad from France’s second tier to the SuperSport HNL, although the link remains a rumour and no transfer has been confirmed. The proposed destination is Split, where Hajduk compete in Croatia’s top division.
Fayad was born in Montpellier and holds both Moroccan and French nationality. His listed market value is €1.5m, while his highest recorded valuation has been €5m.
The midfielder joined Montpellier’s first-team setup after progressing through the club’s youth system, moving from the B team in 2022. He currently wears number 10 for Montpellier and remains under contract with the French club until June 2027.
