Youssouf Fofana transfer: Galatasaray weigh move for AC Milan midfielder

French midfielder Youssouf Fofana has been linked with a move from AC Milan to Galatasaray in the Turkish Super Lig.

The 27-year-old defensive midfielder joined Milan from Monaco in August 2024 for €26 million and is under contract with the Italian club until 30 June 2028. The proposed move has been given a 52% probability, while Fofana’s current market value is listed at €23 million.

Fofana has not appeared for Milan in the opening two Serie A matches of the 2026-27 season, recording no goals or assists. His lack of involvement has added context to the reported interest from Galatasaray, although there has been no confirmation that a transfer has been agreed.

He won the Italian Super Cup with Milan during the 2024-25 campaign, having previously spent four seasons with Monaco after beginning his senior career at Strasbourg.

Fofana also represented France at the 2022 World Cup, where his national team finished runners-up. He holds French and Malian nationality and was born in Paris.

Any deal would therefore involve a player who remains tied to Milan for almost two more seasons, with the Italian club’s asking position and Galatasaray’s willingness to meet his valuation likely to shape the next stage of the rumour.
