Rayo Vallecano linked with Spanish-Nigerian defender Mujaid Sadick
Spain-Nigeria defender Mujaid Sadick has been linked with a move from Belgian club Genk to La Liga side Rayo Vallecano.
The 26-year-old centre-back joined Genk from Deportivo La Coruna in July 2021 in a deal worth €1.7m and has remained under contract with the Belgian club since then. His current agreement runs until 30 June 2028.
Sadick has not featured for Genk in the opening four possible matches of the 2026-27 Jupiler Pro League season, with no appearances, goals or assists recorded. He has also not been named in the starting XI during that period.
A move to Rayo would represent a return to Spanish football for the defender, who was born in Logrono and developed through Deportivo’s academy before moving into the club’s senior structure. He made the switch to Genk after progressing from Deportivo’s reserve side.
Sadick’s reported market value is €5m, while his contract means Genk would not be facing the immediate prospect of losing him on a free transfer. No transfer fee has been established for the proposed move, and the link remains at the rumour stage.
Rayo Vallecano are looking to add Sadick from Genk, but there has been no confirmation that an agreement has been reached or that the defender has completed a move to Madrid.
