Zamalek complete final training session before Montakhab El-Suez Petrojet match

Zamalek have completed their preparations for Monday’s Egyptian Premier League meeting with Montakhab El-Suez Petrojet, with head coach Mo’tamed Gamal reducing the physical workload during the team’s final training session.

The squad trained on Sunday evening at the auxiliary pitch at Air Defense Stadium as preparations concluded for the upcoming league fixture. The match will take place at Cairo International Stadium at 20:00 local time on Monday.

Gamal’s coaching staff opted for a lighter session to limit the risk of fatigue before the game. The players completed a physical exercise under the supervision of Portuguese fitness coach Nuno Costa Ribeiro, but the intensity was carefully managed ahead of the match.

The main focus of the session was tactical work. The coaching staff divided the players into groups for a series of technical exercises, while continuing to provide instructions and make adjustments throughout the practice.

Zamalek then ended the training session with a small-sided tactical game. The exercise was designed to allow the players to put into practice the movements and ideas covered during the tactical drills, as the team continued its preparation for the games ahead.

Monday’s fixture will be Zamalek’s third match of the Egyptian Premier League campaign. They began the season with a goalless draw against Al Ittihad Alexandria, before recording their first victory in their most recent outing.

That win came against National Bank of Egypt, with Zamalek claiming a 3-0 success. The result gave Gamal’s side momentum before the meeting with Montakhab El-Suez Petrojet, although the team will now look to build on that performance with another positive result.

The final session at Air Defense Stadium therefore centred on readiness rather than heavy physical preparation. The players worked through their tactical programme, completed the coaching staff’s planned technical exercises and finished with the small-sided game before turning their attention to Monday evening’s contest.

Zamalek will host Montakhab El-Suez Petrojet at Cairo International Stadium in a match from the third round of the Egyptian Premier League. The fixture is scheduled to begin at 20:00 on Monday.
