Wydad AC secure Dutch-Moroccan striker Soufiane Hetli in Telstar switch

Dutch-Moroccan centre-forward Soufiane Hetli has joined Wydad AC from Telstar for €250,000, completing a move from the Netherlands to Morocco.

The 25-year-old has signed for the Botola Pro Inwi club after leaving Telstar, where he had been playing in the Eredivisie. Hetli’s move was completed on 29 August 2026.

Hetli made two appearances for Telstar in the 2026-27 Eredivisie season before switching clubs. He started both matches, played 85% of the available minutes and recorded no goals or assists during that run.

The right-footed striker arrived at Telstar from AFC Amsterdam in July 2024 on a free transfer. He had spent the previous two seasons with AFC Amsterdam after progressing from the club’s under-21 side.

Hetli began his youth career with Zeeburgia before moving to Almere City’s youth set-up in 2015. He subsequently spent time with DWS and AFC Amsterdam, remaining in the Dutch football system before stepping up to senior football.

Standing 1.77m tall, Hetli adds a centre-forward option to Wydad’s squad as he begins the next stage of his career in Morocco. His listed nationalities are the Netherlands and Morocco.

The transfer places Hetli in a new domestic competition after his brief spell in the Eredivisie. He leaves Telstar having made two league appearances in the 2026-27 campaign and joins Wydad AC for a €250,000 fee.
