Alexander Isak calls for Liverpool improvement after Forest draw

Alexander Isak admitted Liverpool must sharpen up after their 2-2 draw with Nottingham Forest at Anfield.

The striker scored after the break, but Forest still earned a point through Victor Munoz’s late equaliser after twice going in front.

After the match, Isak pointed to Liverpool’s sluggish opening and stressed that the team cannot keep handing opponents early control. He said the squad’s fighting spirit is intact, but also made clear that the performance level has to rise once momentum swings their way. His words reflected a player who was relieved to get off the mark, yet still frustrated by how the evening unfolded.

Isak also spoke positively about settling into Andoni Iraola’s approach, saying the group is working hard to adapt and that results should follow. For Liverpool, the message was plain: effort alone is not enough if the side keeps making life hard for itself.

The Swedish forward’s first goal of the season offered one bright spot, but the overall picture was less encouraging. Liverpool will now be looking for a much cleaner display, especially defensively, in their next outing.
