Abdoulie Ndow: Gambia midfielder joins Cosenza from Spezia on loan

Gambia attacking midfielder Abdoulie Ndow has joined Cosenza from Spezia Calcio on loan, completing a move within Italy’s Serie C. The 21-year-old’s temporary transfer began on 28 August 2026 and runs until 30 June 2027.

Ndow, who plays in an advanced midfield role and is naturally right-footed, moves to Cosenza after joining Spezia earlier in the same transfer window. He switched from Frosinone to Spezia on 12 July 2026 before making the short move to Cosenza less than two months later.

The Gambian midfielder’s arrival gives Cosenza an option in the attacking midfield area as they compete in Serie C – Girone C. His loan is scheduled to end at the conclusion of the 2026-27 season, when he is due to return to Spezia.

Ndow began the 2025-26 campaign with Frosinone after progressing from the club’s under-19 side. He had moved into Frosinone’s senior set-up in July 2025, following his time with Frosinone U19.

Before joining the Frosinone academy pathway, Ndow played for Scafatese and San Marzano. He moved to Scafatese from San Marzano in August 2024 before transferring to Frosinone U19 in February 2025.

His honours include winning the Italian Supercoppa at Primavera2 level with Frosinone Primavera during the 2024-25 season. The competition is associated with Italy’s youth football structure, where Ndow established part of his early career before moving into senior football.

Ndow was born in Darrau Rilwan and represents The Gambia. He has a listed market value of €150,000 and is contracted to Spezia, with his current deal running until 30 June 2027.

Cosenza’s league campaign had begun by the time of the move, although Ndow had not yet recorded an appearance, goal or assist in the 2026-27 Serie C – Girone C or Coppa Italia Serie C competitions. His arrival therefore represents an early opportunity to add senior minutes in Cosenza’s midfield.

The loan places Ndow at Cosenza for the remainder of the 2026-27 season, with the player due to return to Spezia on 30 June 2027.
