NEC FC add Uganda international defender Musitafa Mujuzi to defensive ranks

Uganda centre-back Musitafa Mujuzi has joined NEC FC from Entebbe UPPC, completing a move within the Uganda Premier League on 27 August 2026.

The 27-year-old defender has signed a contract with NEC FC running until 30 June 2029. No transfer fee has been disclosed for the move.

Mujuzi arrives after one season with Entebbe UPPC, having joined the club from KCCA FC on 1 July 2025. He made 54 appearances in the Uganda Premier League during his recorded career, playing 4,580 minutes, and has also featured five times in the CAF Confederation Cup, where he scored once.

The right-footed defender stands 1.90m tall and is listed primarily as a centre-back. His arrival gives NEC FC an experienced option in central defence as the club continues its Uganda Premier League campaign.

Mujuzi began his senior club career with Proline FC in September 2017 before moving to Kyetume FC in the 2020-21 season. He then joined KCCA FC in August 2022, spending three seasons with the club before switching to Entebbe UPPC.

His move to NEC FC marks the latest step in a club career that has remained within Uganda’s domestic game. The defender has now represented five clubs, including NEC FC and his previous side Entebbe UPPC, as well as KCCA FC, Kyetume FC and Proline FC.

The transfer was completed on 27 August, with Mujuzi joining NEC FC from Entebbe UPPC on a contract that expires in June 2029.
