Elton Acolatse: Al-Hazem secure €2.5m deal for Dutch-Ghanaian winger

Dutch-Ghanaian winger Elton Acolatse has joined Saudi Pro League club Al-Hazem from Ferencvaros for €2.5m.

The 31-year-old left winger completed the move on 27 August, bringing his time in Hungary to an end after joining Ferencvaros from Diosgyor in January 2026 for €1.5m. Acolatse becomes the latest player to move from the NB I to Saudi Arabia, with Al-Hazem securing his services after a brief spell with the Hungarian side.

Acolatse made three appearances for Ferencvaros at the start of the 2026-27 campaign, featuring twice in Europa League qualifying and once in the Hungarian top flight. He did not score or provide an assist in those appearances.

His time at Ferencvaros did, however, include a domestic cup triumph during the 2025-26 season. The club won the Hungarian Cup, adding to a career that has also included an Israeli Cup victory with Hapoel Beer Sheva in 2020.

Born in Amsterdam, Acolatse came through the Ajax academy before beginning his senior career with KVC Westerlo in Belgium. He later played for Club Brugge and Sint-Truiden, as well as Bursaspor, Hapoel Beer Sheva, FC Ashdod and Diosgyor.

Acolatse’s move to Al-Hazem continues a career spent across several European leagues and countries. He developed in the Netherlands before moving abroad and has since played in Belgium, Turkey, Israel and Hungary. His youth career also brought international success, as he was part of the Netherlands Under-17 side that won the European Under-17 Championship in 2012.

The right-footed winger joins Al-Hazem after recording a market value of €700,000, with the Saudi club paying €2.5m to complete the transfer from Ferencvaros.

Acolatse has now officially exchanged Hungarian football for the Saudi Pro League, completing his transfer to Al-Hazem on 27 August 2026.
