Moroccan defender Ilyass Lagrimi switches to Khor Fakkan in UAE loan move

Moroccan left-back Ilyass Lagrimi has joined Khor Fakkan from Al-Jazira on loan, giving the 22-year-old a new challenge in the UAE Pro League.

The move was completed on 27 August 2026 and is scheduled to run until 30 June 2027. Lagrimi will remain with Khor Fakkan for the 2026-27 campaign before returning to Al-Jazira at the end of the loan.

Lagrimi, who is 1.80m tall and prefers his left foot, operates primarily as a defender on the left side. He becomes the latest addition to Khor Fakkan’s squad for a season that also includes involvement in the AFC Champions League Elite qualifying competition.

The transfer comes after a spell at Al-Jazira, whom Lagrimi joined from Union Touarga in January 2025. He was part of the Al-Jazira side that won the UAE League Cup in the 2024-25 season.

Before moving to Al-Jazira, Lagrimi played for Union Touarga. He joined that club from Touarga Reserve in July 2023, having begun his senior club journey with AM Football.

His move to Khor Fakkan keeps him in the UAE Pro League, where both clubs compete, while placing him at a different club for the first time since his arrival in the United Arab Emirates from Morocco. The transfer also represents a temporary change in club after Al-Jazira retained his registration beyond the loan period.

Lagrimi had not made an appearance for Al-Jazira in the opening UAE Pro League or AFC Champions League Elite qualifying fixtures of the 2026-27 season before completing the switch. Khor Fakkan have therefore secured his services for the remainder of the campaign without the move becoming permanent.

The defender’s recorded market value is €450,000, while his highest recorded value has been €550,000. Those figures do not alter the temporary nature of the agreement, with the transfer formally recorded as a loan rather than a permanent sale.

Lagrimi’s existing deal is listed as running until 30 June 2027, the same date that marks the end of his spell with Khor Fakkan. The Moroccan defender has now completed his move from Al-Jazira and will represent Khor Fakkan during the 2026-27 season.
