Aliou Dieng commits to Al Ahly amidst high demand from European and Asian clubs

Aliou Dieng commits to Al Ahly amidst high demand from European and Asian clubs

Malian international midfielder Aliou Dieng has resolved to remain with Al Ahly, dispelling speculations of a transfer during this window. The decision comes despite fervent interest from multiple clubs in Europe and Asia eager to secure his services.

The confirmation of Aliou Dieng’s continued allegiance to the Cairo-based club was disclosed by a highly reliable source within the board of directors of Al Ahly on Monday, February 5, 2025.

The 26-year-old, formerly of Djoliba AC and Mouloudia Club of Algiers, extends his association with Al Ahly until 2026.

A plethora of clubs, including West Ham, Burnley, Anderlecht, KRC Genk, Aston Villa, Salernitana, Naples, AS Roma, Sporting Club, and Turkish giants Galatasaray, Fenerbahce, and Besiktas, along with Qatari clubs, expressed keen interest in securing Aliou Dieng’s talents.

However, as of now, none have met Al Ahly’s valuation for the midfielder.

Al Ahly has set a substantial price tag of 6 to 8 million euros for Dieng, who has been an integral part of the club since joining in the summer of 2019.

Despite the persistent interest and financial capabilities of these clubs, none have yet made an offer meeting the Egyptian club’s expectations.

A Malian international with 33 caps and 2 goals to his name, Aliou Dieng has already featured in five matches for Al Ahly this season.

The decision to retain Dieng not only underscores the club’s commitment to retaining key talents but also presents a testament to the player’s significance within the team’s dynamics.

Football enthusiasts and Al Ahly supporters await the midfielder’s continued contributions to the club’s success on both domestic and continental fronts.
