Iraqi sports club Al-Karkh officially announced on Monday evening the signing of Egyptian star Saleh Gomaa from the Ismaily team during the ongoing winter transfer window.
The official website of Al-Karkh posted a statement on its Facebook page, which read:
“Saleh Gomaa moves to Al-Karkh Iraqi Club.
The administrative body of Al-Karkh has signed with the Egyptian football player Saleh Gomaa, who played for Al-Ahly, Ismaily, and the Egyptian national team, during the current winter transfer season.
His international card was received today, Monday, February 5, 2024.”
“It is expected that the player will arrive in Baghdad in the coming days after completing the necessary procedures for entry into Iraqi territory.”
Saleh Gomaa, a midfielder for the Egyptian national football team and Al-Ahly, began his football career in 2010 with Egypt’s Enppi team.
In 2013, he was loaned to Portugal’s Nacional Madeira, then moved to Egypt’s Al-Ahly in 2015.
In 2018, he was loaned to Saudi Arabia’s Al-Faisaly and most recently played for Ismaily in Egypt.
