A source within Al Ahly club has refuted claims regarding the club’s interest in securing the services of Mokwena, the midfielder from Sundowns and the South African national team.
The club dismisses the alleged negotiations as inaccurate, asserting that Ahly is satisfied with its three acquisitions during the current winter transfer window.
The club successfully completed deals for the Palestinian striker Wisam Abu Ali, full-back Omar Kamal Abdulwahid, and goalkeeper Mahmoud El-Zanfally.
The official, who declined to be named, clarified to “Al-Masry Al-Youm,” stating, “Ahly is not negotiating with Mokwena, and all the circulating information about Ahly pursuing his transfer is untrue.”
Earlier reports from South African media outlets had affirmed Ahly’s interest in securing a deal with Mokwena.
However, the recent statements from within the Egyptian club contradict these speculations, emphasizing that Ahly has concluded its transfer activities for the current window.
