RC Lens consider move for RB Leipzig defender El Chadaille Bitshiabu

RC Lens have emerged as a potential destination for RB Leipzig defender El Chadaille Bitshiabu, with the French club reportedly gathering information about his situation before the transfer window closes.

The Ligue 1 side, who finished runners-up in France, are believed to be considering a move for the 21-year-old centre-back.

Bitshiabu is viewed as a possible departure from Leipzig after struggling to establish himself during his three seasons in Germany. The defender arrived with considerable promise, but regular first-team opportunities have remained limited, leaving his long-term future at the club uncertain.

Leipzig are also under pressure to generate income and reach their financial targets. That could make the club more receptive to offers for players who are not central to their immediate plans, although Bitshiabu remains under contract until 2029.

A return to France could appeal to the young defender because he already knows the league. The opportunity to represent Lens in the Champions League would add another attraction and potentially offer him a more prominent role.

According to the report, Bitshiabu “would welcome the opportunity to return to a league he already knows while also taking part in the Champions League season with Lens.”
