Celta Vigo sign Moroccan forward Souhaib Driouch from PSV

Celta Vigo have completed the signing of Moroccan forward Souhaib Driouch from PSV Eindhoven in the current transfer window.

The Spanish outfit are understood to have agreed a transfer fee of €7 million for Driouch, with the Moroccan signing a four-year contract that will keep him at the club until the summer of 2030.

The move comes after Driouch’s proposed transfer to Scottish giants Rangers failed to materialise. With negotiations for the switch to Scotland breaking down, Celta Vigo moved quickly to secure the services of the 22-year-old and eventually reached an agreement with PSV.

Driouch joins Celta Vigo with considerable experience from his time in Dutch football. The Moroccan-born attacker began his professional career with Excelsior Rotterdam, where he developed and established himself before earning a move to PSV Eindhoven in the summer of 2024.

His performances at Excelsior convinced PSV to invest in his potential, and the move provided Driouch with the opportunity to compete at a higher level and challenge for major honours.

During his spell with PSV, Driouch was part of a successful side that enjoyed a trophy-laden period. He won the Eredivisie title twice and also lifted the Johan Cruyff Shield, adding valuable silverware to his growing career.

His time in Eindhoven therefore ended with the player having experienced domestic success and gained further exposure to top-level European football.

However, Driouch has now decided that the time is right for a fresh challenge, with Celta Vigo offering him the opportunity to test himself in La Liga.

The Spanish club will be hoping that his experience in the Netherlands, combined with his attacking qualities and familiarity with competitive European football, will help him make an immediate impact.

For Driouch, the move represents another significant milestone in his career. After developing in the Dutch system, progressing from Excelsior to PSV and winning multiple trophies in Eindhoven, he will now have the chance to establish himself in one of Europe’s major leagues.

Celta Vigo’s decision to commit to Driouch until 2030 also highlights their confidence in his ability to become an important part of the club’s plans over the coming seasons.

The Moroccan international will now turn his attention to adapting to his new surroundings and competing for a regular place as Celta Vigo prepare for another demanding La Liga campaign.
