Cheick Oumar Keïta, the 18-year-old defensive midfielder from AS Réal de Bamako, has reportedly finalized an agreement with the Emirati club Al Wasl. Following a trial in Lille last summer and initial announcements linking him to Le Havre, Keïta is now on the cusp of a new chapter in his burgeoning career, eagerly anticipated in the Persian Gulf.
Al Wasl, competing in the United Arab Emirates Premier League, is poised to welcome the young Malian talent.
Cheick Oumar Keïta, having showcased his skills in the Malian Ligue 1 with AS Réal de Bamako, will soon undergo a medical examination and officially sign his first professional contract with Al Wasl.
The Malian U20 international recently played a key role in the qualification stages of the CAF Champions League with the Bamako Scorpions. As he readies himself for a new challenge in the United Arab Emirates, Keïta joins a prestigious club with fellow Malian talents.
Notably, he will be in the company of Siaka Sidibé, the promising Malian international attacking midfielder known as “Chapé,” who is in his second year with Al Wasl.
Additionally, the Ivorian-Malian center forward, Adama Diallo, adds to the camaraderie within the squad.
The imminent move to Al Wasl marks a significant milestone in Cheick Oumar Keïta’s career, signifying a transition to international football and a promising stint in the vibrant football landscape of the United Arab Emirates.
