Al Hilal enter late negotiations for Crystal Palace forward Ismaila Sarr

Al Hilal have joined Galatasaray in pursuing Crystal Palace forward Ismaila Sarr, with the Saudi club considering a late move to strengthen their attack before the summer transfer window closes.

The Saudi Pro League side have made enquiries about the 28-year-old Senegal international’s situation at Crystal Palace, according to French outlet Foot Mercato. Sarr’s future at Selhurst Park remains uncertain, although Al Hilal have not yet submitted a formal offer.

Al Hilal are monitoring the forward closely and could make an official approach as the transfer deadline approaches. Their interest has added a new contender to a deal that Galatasaray are already working hard to complete.

The Turkish club are attempting to prevent the Saudi side from winning the race and are holding advanced negotiations with Crystal Palace. Galatasaray are seeking to reach a financial agreement with the London club which would allow them to secure Sarr’s signature.

The developments could lead to a late contest between clubs from Riyadh and Istanbul for the Senegal forward, with the transfer window approaching its final hours.

Sarr joined Crystal Palace from Marseille in the summer of 2024. He was not involved in the club’s opening match of the new Premier League season, when Palace were beaten 2-0 away by Everton.

The forward enjoyed a productive campaign last season, making 45 appearances for Crystal Palace across all competitions. He scored 21 goals and provided two assists during that run, helping the London club win the UEFA Conference League.

Sarr also represented Senegal at the World Cup this summer, scoring four goals. Senegal’s campaign ended in the round of 32 after a defeat by Belgium.

His record for Crystal Palace and his international experience have made him an attractive target to both Al Hilal and Galatasaray. However, with no formal offer yet made by the Saudi club, Galatasaray currently appear to have progressed further in discussions with Crystal Palace.

The situation remains unresolved as the final stage of the transfer window gets under way, with Al Hilal continuing to assess whether to turn their interest into a formal bid.
