Real Madrid complete Diomande presentation after €125m Leipzig transfer

Real Madrid have formally presented Ivorian teenager Diomande as their latest first-team player, bringing the club’s summer unveiling programme to an end.

The 19-year-old forward has joined from Leipzig in a deal worth €125m, with the total fee capable of rising to €140m through performance-related bonuses. The transfer makes Diomande the most expensive signing in Real Madrid’s history.

Diomande signed a seven-season contract during the presentation ceremony, which will keep him at the club until 30 June 2033. He was welcomed by Real Madrid president Florentino Perez at the club’s meeting room before completing the formalities of his move.

As part of the ceremony, Diomande was presented with a model of the Santiago Bernabeu, a watch and a Real Madrid shirt carrying his name and the number 25. The event was also attended by the club’s honorary president, Jose Martinez Pirri.

The presentation marks the final stage of Real Madrid’s work to introduce all of their new summer arrivals. Diomande is the latest player recruited as the Spanish club strengthens its squad ahead of next season.

Real Madrid are placing significant expectations on the young Ivorian, who is regarded by the club as an important addition to the attacking unit. His arrival forms part of a new project at the Bernabeu, with the club trusting his ability to make an immediate contribution to the forward line.

The agreement with Leipzig includes incentives linked to Diomande’s level and performances, meaning the final cost could reach €140m. Even before those potential bonuses are taken into account, the €125m initial fee establishes a new transfer record for Real Madrid.

The club’s official announcement detailed the sequence of events surrounding Diomande’s arrival. Following his meeting with Perez, the player completed the contract signing and received the traditional gifts associated with a Real Madrid presentation.

His shirt number was also confirmed as 25, completing the public unveiling of the newest member of the squad.

With Diomande now introduced, Real Madrid have finished presenting the new faces brought in during the summer transfer window. The club’s recruitment programme is therefore complete as preparations continue for the forthcoming season.

The Ivorian forward joins the squad after his move from Leipzig and becomes the final new signing to be formally presented by the Spanish side. His long-term contract, record fee and expected role in attack underline the importance Real Madrid attach to the deal.
