USM Oujda strengthen defence with Morocco centre-back El Mehdi Dahr
Morocco defender El Mehdi Dahr has joined USM Oujda from Rapide Oued Zem on a free transfer, adding a 27-year-old centre-back to the club’s squad.
Dahr completed the move on 24 August 2026 and has signed a contract with USM Oujda running until 30 June 2028. He had been with Rapide Oued Zem since January, having also arrived at that club as a free agent.
The 1.84m defender is right-footed and plays primarily in central defence. His most recent recorded appearance came for Rapide Oued Zem in the Coupe du Trone Marocaine, where he played the full 90 minutes in one match.
Dahr’s move to Oujda continues a career in which he has regularly changed clubs without a transfer fee. Before joining Rapide Oued Zem, he spent the first half of the 2025-26 season with CR Bernoussi, moving there from Al-Noor Club in September 2025.
He joined Al-Noor Club from El Nasr in September 2023, after previously representing Chabab Houara and FAR Reserve. His senior club career began with Tanger B, from whom he moved to FAR Reserve in August 2019.
The defender’s arrival gives USM Oujda a player with experience across several Moroccan clubs and a contract secured for the next two seasons. Dahr is the latest step in the club career of a player who has made each of his recent moves as a free agent.
El Mehdi Dahr is now an USM Oujda player after completing his free transfer from Rapide Oued Zem.
