Levells score 12 as Egypt Cup preliminary round produces big wins

The opening round of the 2026-27 Egypt Cup produced several emphatic results, with Levells recording the biggest victory by beating Al-Hattaba 12-0.

G Sporting also made a strong start to the competition, defeating Abu Rawash Youth Centre 8-0, while Police Union won 5-1 against Hadayek Al-Ahram.

The first preliminary round was played today as the latest edition of the Egypt Cup got under way. A number of ties were settled by penalties after finishing level following normal time.

Helwan Al-Am progressed after beating Future Sport on penalties following their goalless draw. Beni Ebeid also advanced from their tie with Dekernes through a shoot-out after the match ended 1-1.

El Obour won their penalty contest against Inter City after a 0-0 draw, while Delphi secured victory over Alexandria Petroleum on penalties following a 2-2 stalemate.

Among the other notable results, Misr Insurance kept a clean sheet in a 3-0 victory over Al-Hadarat. Media United overcame Al-Ahram Sport 5-2, while Port Fouad recorded a 5-0 success against Damietta.

Samanoud defeated Said El-Mahalla 4-0, and Misr Lel Maqassah also won by four goals without reply against Dar El-Salam in Fayoum. Damanhour Games edged Al-Maadeya Sporting 3-2, while El Shams beat El Nogoom 3-2 in one of the closest games of the round.

The Egypt Cup holders are Pyramids, who won the trophy last season for the second time in their history. They beat ZED in the final to claim the title.
