Frosinone target Cameroon-France defender Enzo Tchato in Montpellier move

Cameroon and France defender Enzo Tchato is being linked with a move from Montpellier to Italy’s Frosinone.

The 23-year-old right-back is currently playing for Montpellier in Ligue 2, with a proposed transfer potentially taking him to Serie A. Tchato has made two appearances in Montpellier’s first three possible league matches this season, starting 67% of the time and receiving one yellow card.

Tchato joined Montpellier’s senior side from the club’s reserve team in July 2022 and has remained with the French club since. He was born in Montpellier and has spent his development years within the club’s system, progressing from the under-17 side to the under-19s and then Montpellier B.

The defender’s contract runs until 30 June 2027, meaning Montpellier are not facing an immediate expiry deadline should interest from Frosinone develop into a formal approach. His current market value is listed at €2.5m.

Tchato has made two Ligue 2 appearances this season, completing 180 minutes, and is yet to score or assist. His involvement places him among Montpellier’s current first-team options at right-back as the reported Serie A interest emerges.
