Ivorian attacker Elye Wahi arrives in France to seal OGC Nice return

Ivorian international Elye Wahi has arrived at Nice Airport to seal his return to OGC Nice after the French club reached an agreement with Eintracht Frankfurt over a loan move.

The 23-year-old forward landed on Sunday night and is expected to complete his move in the coming days.

Nice and Frankfurt reached an agreement on Saturday for Wahi to rejoin the French club on loan, just months after his impressive first spell on the French Riviera.

Wahi previously spent the second half of last season with Nice, making a significant impact as the club battled to avoid relegation. The Ivorian scored nine goals in 19 appearances during his initial stint, establishing himself as an important attacking player.

His performances convinced Nice to bring him back, with the club now hoping he can reproduce the form that made him a fan favourite during his first spell.

Wahi’s time at Frankfurt, however, has been difficult. The striker struggled to establish himself in Germany and managed just one goal in 25 appearances for the Bundesliga outfit.

The return to Nice presents Wahi with an opportunity to revive his career and regain the confidence he enjoyed during his previous spell.

The former Lens forward is scheduled to undergo his medical on Monday, with the move expected to be officially confirmed once he successfully completes the necessary examinations.

Wahi’s arrival has already generated excitement among Nice supporters, who will be hoping the Ivorian can once again deliver the goals that made his previous spell at the club so successful.
