Jacques Ekomie: West Ham consider move for Angers left-back

Gabonese-French left-back Jacques Ekomie is being linked with a move from Angers SCO to West Ham.

The 23-year-old defender is reportedly attracting interest from the English club, who are listed in the Championship, although there is no indication that a transfer has been agreed or that negotiations have reached an advanced stage.

Ekomie has made one Ligue 1 appearance for Angers this season, playing the full 90 minutes. He joined the French club from Bordeaux on a free transfer in July 2024 and has since seen his listed market value rise to €9m.

Born in Libreville, Ekomie has both Gabonese and French nationality. He operates at left-back and is left-footed.

The defender remains under contract with Angers until 30 June 2027, meaning the club would not be facing an imminent free-transfer departure if West Ham were to pursue a deal. No transfer fee has been reported.

West Ham’s reported interest comes with Ekomie having started the new Ligue 1 campaign for Angers, but the available information does not establish whether the London club has made a formal offer.
