Esperance Tunis willing to listen to offers for South Africa winger Elias Mokwana

Esperance de Tunis are reportedly prepared to listen to offers for South African winger Elias Mokwana as they look to resolve his future before the close of the transfer window.

The Tunisian giants began their 2026/27 Ligue 1 campaign with a 3-2 victory over ES Sahel, but Mokwana was not included in the squad for the opening-day fixture.

The club’s new big-money signing Lucas Ribeiro Costa was also absent from the matchday squad.

Mokwana returned to Esperance this summer after spending last season on loan at Saudi Arabian side Al Hazem.

The Saudi club decided against making the move permanent, meaning the 25-year-old returned to his parent club.

However, according to Tunisian outlet Le Buteur, Esperance no longer see Mokwana as part of their plans and are now willing to consider offers for the winger.

The report says the club are keen to secure a transfer fee for Mokwana because his current contract is due to expire in June 2027.

Esperance are therefore understood to be assessing potential offers during the current transfer window rather than risk losing the player for a reduced fee or on a free transfer next summer.

Mokwana was also reportedly considered for a move to Libyan club Al Ittihad several weeks ago as part of discussions surrounding the transfer of Ribeiro.

However, the South African was ultimately not included in those negotiations.

Esperance are now keen to find a solution to Mokwana’s situation before the transfer window closes, with the club reportedly open to offers for the former South Africa international.

Mokwana joined Esperance after establishing himself as one of the promising attacking players in South African football and has since had spells abroad as he continues to seek regular first-team football.
