Terem Moffi joins Hamburg after Porto title-winning loan

Nigeria striker Terem Moffi has joined Hamburg from Nice for €2m, completing his move to the Bundesliga club on 24 August 2026.

The 27-year-old centre-forward arrives in Germany after spending the second half of the 2025-26 season on loan at Porto. Moffi joined the Portuguese side from Nice in January before returning to the French club at the end of June.

During his time at Porto, Moffi was part of the squad that won the Portuguese championship. The title is the first major honour recorded in his senior career.

Moffi began the 2026-27 campaign with Nice but did not make an appearance before his transfer to Hamburg. He has moved between clubs in France, Portugal and Belgium during a career that also includes spells with Lorient and KV Kortrijk.

The Calabar-born forward joined Nice from Lorient in July 2023 for €22.5m, following an earlier loan move between the two clubs. He had first arrived at Nice on loan in January 2023, with that deal including a €2.5m loan fee.

Before establishing himself in France, Moffi played for KV Kortrijk in Belgium. He joined the club from Lithuanian side Riteriai in January 2020 for €1.35m, having moved to Riteriai from Kauno Zalgiris in 2019.

Moffi is listed at 1.88m and favours his left foot. His arrival gives Hamburg a Nigerian international centre-forward who has experience in Ligue 1 and the Portuguese top flight, as well as a recent league title with Porto.

He has been assigned the number nine shirt at Hamburg. The new club is his seventh senior side since beginning his professional career with Buckswood FA, from where he moved to Kauno Zalgiris in August 2017.

Moffi’s transfer from Nice gives Hamburg a forward whose recorded market value is €8m, with the German club paying €2m to secure his arrival.

The move was completed on 24 August, with Moffi now registered as a Hamburg player for the 2026-27 season.
