Omar Marmoush transfer to Tottenham nears completion as Manchester City agreement is revealed

Tottenham are close to completing a deal to sign Egypt international Omar Marmoush from Manchester City, with the transfer initially structured as a loan agreement.

The arrangement includes a purchase clause linked to specific sporting targets. The total value of the move, including potential bonuses, is expected to fall between €58m and €64m – approximately £50m.

Marmoush has already agreed personal terms with Tottenham and is now set to join the squad managed by Roberto De Zerbi, subject to the final stages of the transfer being completed.

The agreement is designed to become a long-term commitment. If the purchase clause is automatically activated after the relevant sporting objectives are met, Marmoush will be tied to the London club until June 2031.

The final formalities are expected to take place soon, with the forward’s medical examination scheduled to be completed within the next 48 hours. Once those physical tests have been approved, Marmoush will sign the official documents required to complete his move to Tottenham.

The deal therefore begins as a loan from Manchester City rather than an immediate permanent transfer. Its structure allows the overall fee to be determined by the fulfilment of the specified sporting conditions, while also setting out the terms of a future permanent commitment.

For Tottenham, the agreement provides a route to secure Marmoush on a long-term basis if the conditions attached to the purchase clause are met. The financial package, including bonuses, places the potential value of the transfer between €58m and €64m.

Marmoush’s personal agreement with Tottenham means the remaining steps are focused on the medical assessment and the signing of the official paperwork. His contract is expected to run until June 2031 if the purchase clause is triggered automatically.

The Egyptian international will join a Tottenham squad led by De Zerbi once the transfer has been formally completed. Until the medical and documentation stages are concluded, the move remains subject to those final procedures.
