Monaco eye Stoke City defender Eric-Junior Bocat in Ligue 1 move

French-Senegalese left-back Eric-Junior Bocat is the subject of reported interest from Monaco, with the 27-year-old currently at Stoke City.

Monaco, who play in Ligue 1, are linked with a move for Bocat as he continues his second season with Stoke in the Championship. The defender has started both of the club’s league matches this season and scored once, while also completing 95% of the available minutes.

Bocat joined Stoke from Belgian side Sint-Truiden in July 2024 in a deal worth €1.5m. He had spent two seasons at Sint-Truiden after leaving Mouscron, where he had played following his development with the B teams of Lille and Brest.

The Paris-born defender is listed as a left-back and has a current market value of €2.2m. No transfer fee or probability has been attached to the reported interest from Monaco.

Bocat remains under contract at Stoke until 30 June 2028, meaning any potential move would require an agreement between the clubs rather than a free transfer. There has been no confirmation that negotiations have taken place, and the rumour remains unconfirmed.
