Vincent Kompany backs Bayern’s new signing Ismael Saibari

Vincent Kompany has offered strong praise for Ismael Saibari ahead of Bayern Munich’s opening fixture against Borussia Dortmund in the German Super Cup.

The Moroccan international joined Bayern from PSV Eindhoven during the 2026 World Cup and signed a five-year contract for a reported €50 million.

Saibari made an immediate impression during his first training sessions, standing out with his speed and finishing ability. His performances during the World Cup group stage, where he scored in every match, also helped convince Bayern’s decision-makers that he could make an important contribution.

A minor injury had limited his involvement in recent days, but Kompany indicated that the 25-year-old could receive his first competitive minutes in Bayern colours.

“Saibari possesses so much power and speed, and he is a good finisher. It is important that he develops a good understanding with his teammates. He will play a role tomorrow. He is returning from injury, so we will see how much playing time he gets. He will play an important role for us,” Kompany said.

The coach’s comments underline Bayern’s confidence in their new arrival. Saibari, who has earned 35 Morocco caps and scored 12 international goals, now has an opportunity to begin his German adventure on a major stage.
