Guediawaye FC bring in Senegal centre-back Mohamed Camara on a free transfer

Senegal centre-back Mohamed Camara has joined Guediawaye FC from Casa Sports on a free transfer, completing his move to the Ligue 1 club on 21 August 2026.

Camara, 21, has signed a contract running until 30 June 2028 and moves within Senegal’s top flight after beginning his senior career with Casa Sports. The right-footed defender was born in Ziguinchor and stands 1.80m tall.

The switch brings an end to Camara’s time at Casa Sports, where he established himself after joining the club from its under-17 side in November 2020. His period with the club included two Senegalese Cup successes, in the 2020-21 and 2021-22 seasons, as well as a Senegalese championship title in 2021-22.

Camara also featured in continental competition for Casa Sports. He made two appearances in the CAF Confederation Cup and played once in the CAF Champions League, completing 270 minutes across the two competitions.

His arrival gives Guediawaye an experienced young option in central defence, with the player bringing domestic honours and continental match experience to his new club. The move also keeps him in Ligue 1, where both Casa Sports and Guediawaye compete.

Camara’s career to date has been centred on Senegalese football. After progressing from Casa Sports’ youth ranks, he moved into the senior side and helped the club secure silverware before making the switch to Guediawaye.

The transfer was completed without a fee, and Camara is now contracted to Guediawaye FC until June 2028.
