RS Berkane linked with Cape Verde winger Ryan Mendes
Cape Verdean-French winger Ryan Mendes, currently without a club, has been linked with a move to Moroccan side RS Berkane in the Botola Pro Inwi.
Mendes, 36, has been unattached since leaving Turkish club Igdir FK on 1 July 2026. He joined Igdir from Kocaelispor in September 2025, with the move recorded at €200,000.
The left winger was involved in all four of Cape Verde’s possible matches at the 2026 World Cup, starting each game and registering one assist. He played 85% of the available minutes during the tournament.
Mendes spent the 2024-25 season with Kocaelispor, helping the club win the Turkish second tier before moving to Igdir. He previously played in France, England, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates during a career that included spells with Lille, Nottingham Forest, Kayserispor, Sharjah and Al-Nasr.
His most productive league record came in the UAE Pro League, where he made 112 appearances and scored 35 goals, while also providing 35 assists. He also recorded 19 goals and eight assists in 83 Ligue 2 appearances.
A move to RS Berkane would take Mendes to the Moroccan top flight, but the reported interest remains at the rumour stage. He is currently without a club.
