Tawfik Bentayeb: Morocco forward joins Anderlecht in €4m move

Morocco centre-forward Tawfik Bentayeb has joined Belgian club RSC Anderlecht from Union Touarga for €4m, completing a move that takes the 24-year-old into the Jupiler Pro League.

Bentayeb has signed a contract with Anderlecht running until 30 June 2030. The Casablanca-born striker will wear the number 21 shirt at his new club and becomes part of an Anderlecht squad competing in Belgium’s top flight.

The left-footed forward arrives after a productive 2025-26 campaign, during which he finished as Ligue 2’s leading scorer with 18 goals. His wider Ligue 2 record stands at 28 goals in 57 appearances, with four assists.

Bentayeb spent last season at French club Troyes after joining them on loan from Union Touarga in August 2025. He returned to the Moroccan side at the end of that loan spell before moving on to Anderlecht.

His previous experience in France also includes a loan spell with Rodez AF during the 2024-25 season. He scored three goals in four Coupe de France appearances during his career, while also recording 14 goals in 48 Botola Pro Inwi appearances for Union Touarga.

Bentayeb began his senior career with AM Football before joining Union Touarga on a free transfer in September 2021. His performances in Morocco led to successive temporary moves to France, followed by the permanent switch to Anderlecht.

The €4m fee makes the Belgium move the most significant transfer of Bentayeb’s career. Anderlecht have secured the Morocco international’s services through June 2030, and the deal was completed on 21 August 2026.
