Gennaro Johnson: South Africa goalkeeper makes U. Pretoria switch from Cape Town City reserves

South Africa goalkeeper Gennaro Johnson has joined U. Pretoria from CT C FC Res., completing his move on 21 August 2026.

Johnson, 18, joins the University of Pretoria side after spending the previous part of his career with the Cape Town City reserves. The goalkeeper moved to the reserve team from CT Spurs Youth in March 2024.

The transfer represents the latest step in Johnson’s progression through South African football, having moved from a youth set-up into reserve-team football before joining U. Pretoria.

Johnson is now a University of Pretoria player.
