Schalke show interest in Burnley forward Andreas Hountondji
Benin and France forward Andreas Hountondji is the subject of a reported move from Championship club Burnley to Bundesliga side Schalke 04.
Hountondji, 24, returned to Burnley this summer after spending the 2025-26 season on loan at St Pauli. He has yet to feature for Burnley in the Championship or EFL Cup this season.
The centre-forward joined Burnley from French club SM Caen in July 2024 for €4m and subsequently spent the second half of that campaign on loan at Standard Liege. His season-long move to St Pauli followed in July 2025, with the German club paying a €400,000 loan fee.
A move back to Germany would come shortly after Hountondji’s return to England, although there is no reported transfer fee or indication that negotiations have reached an advanced stage. His current market value is listed at €3m.
Hountondji remains under contract at Burnley until 30 June 2028.
