Sunderland consider move for DR Congo midfielder Jules Ahoka
DR Congo midfielder Jules Ahoka, currently with Royal Antwerp, has been linked with a move to Premier League club Sunderland.
Ahoka, 20, plays as a defensive midfielder and joined Royal Antwerp from AC Normands in September 2025. He remains under contract with the Belgian club until 30 June 2029.
The midfielder has started both of Antwerp’s Jupiler Pro League matches in the 2026-27 season, completing all 180 minutes and providing one assist. He has not scored and has not received a card in those appearances.
Ahoka’s senior club record currently consists of two league appearances, with his involvement coming entirely in the opening stages of the new campaign. The possible Sunderland move would therefore represent a switch from Belgium’s top flight to the Premier League while he is still at an early stage of his professional career.
Royal Antwerp are the club from which Sunderland are reportedly considering recruiting the Kinshasa-born player. His current market value is listed at €300,000, although the terms of any potential deal have not been established.
Ahoka moved to Antwerp in 2025 and is now registered with the first team, where he has started every league game available this season. For now, he continues to occupy a midfield role at Royal Antwerp, with three years remaining on his existing contract.
