Salah is a role model for every Egyptian player – Barcelona youngster Hamza Abdelkarim

Barcelona youngster Hamza Abdelkarim has revealed his admiration for Egyptian football icon Mohamed Salah, describing the former Liverpool star as a role model for him and players across the country.

Abdelkarim secured a permanent from Al Ahly to the Spanish giants in the current summer transfer window after impressing for the Barcelona team B.

The talented attacker has enjoyed an amazing pre-season under manager Hansi Flick, with many tipping him for a place in the senior tam ahead of the new campaign.  

“Can I consider Salah as my role model? Yes, for all of Egypt, and for every Egyptian player,” Abdelkarim said.

Salah has enjoyed an outstanding career at the highest level, establishing himself as one of the most successful Egyptian players in football history while consistently performing on the biggest stages in Europe and internationally.

For Abdelkarim, who is beginning to make a name for himself at Barcelona, Salah represents an example of what an Egyptian footballer can achieve through hard work, determination and consistency.

The Barcelona youngster has also been attracting attention during the club’s pre-season preparations, with his performances and goals putting him among the players generating excitement ahead of the new campaign.

His admiration for Salah is therefore particularly significant as he begins his own journey in European football.
